The Music Commission of the Círculo del Liceo invited Jordi Pardo to talk us about Pau Casals.
Pau Casals is undoubtedly one of the most universal names in 20th century music. A total musician, he was internationally acclaimed for his excellence as a cellist, but also as a great conductor. He developed his activity as a composer and teacher throughout his intense life.
Jordi Pardo is general director of the Pau Casals Foundation, cultural manager, archaeologist and historian from the UB, and EMPA, FGAP from ESADE. He is also a member of UNESCO's bank of experts on culture and development and a member of the European Commission for the selection of the Cultural Capitals of Europe. He is president of the "Cercle de Cultura" of Barcelona.
The event will continue on October 8th, with an exclusive visit to the newly renovated Pau Casals Museum in El Vendrell. The visit will be guided by the director of the Pau Casals Foundation and will conclude with lunch in the museum gardens.
