Círculo del Liceo Music Commission presented the Lied recital with tenor Roger Padullés and Albert Guinovart on piano.

They performed to begin the cycle An die ferne Geliebte op. 98 by Beethoven that consists of six songs that are performed without interruption, and that is considered the first cycle of Lied in history.
They continued with Dichterliebe (Poet's Love) by Guinovart, the last Lied cycle to date. At the request of the tenor, Guinovart set music to the same poems by Heinrich Heine that make up Schumann's well-known Dichterliebe, giving a different and contemporary vision of the great German poet.

Roger Padullés began his vocal training at the Escolanía de Montserrat. In 2009 he won the Second Prize and the Placido Domingo Award at the Francesc Viñas International Competition. He began a professional career that has led him to sing in theaters around the world, directed, among others, by Zubin Mehtar or staged by Peter Brook or Christoph Merthaler

Albert Guinovart is one of the most complete and versatile musicians today. His professional activity is divided between his dedication as a pianist, composer and teacher. He is known for his award-winning musicals, as well as for his operas, ballets, and symphonic music, notably his Requiem, Te Deum and Gloria. He has three Armchair Awards and two Max Awards; he has the Ciutat de Barcelona Award and is a Steinway Artist.
