Conference with David Bagué & Cosmos Quartet's recital
The secrets of the instrument: the violin
Monday, 10 October 19:00
* Private and exclusive events for members of the Círculo del Liceo

The Music Commission of the Círculo del Liceo called a new cycle session of  'The secrets of the instrument', whose objective is to expand knowledge about different instruments, from the hand of renowned professionals and artists.

During this session we discovered the secrets of the violin with David Bagué, one of the most prestigious luthiers in the world. After the conference, we enjoyed a recital by the Cosmos Quartet.
The relationship between David Bagué and the Cosmos Quartet is especially noteworthy, since Bagué has made the instruments of all the members of the quartet, something that had not happened since Stradivari did the same for the Spanish Crown in 1702.

David Bagué is a luthier and cultural activist. He has been trained in the Italian city of Cremona, in a trade that has hardly changed in three hundred years. In 2003 the Generalitat awarded him the Creu de Sant Jordi in recognition of the international prestige achieved with the construction of bowed instruments and his pioneering work, which has established him as a benchmark in his trade.
In Bagué's words: 'The secret to get here is not only technical. It is an intangible, mystical, metaphysical and transcendent fact, which responds to a spiritual attitude of doing things'

The Cosmos Quartet has achieved wide recognition at a national and international level, having participated in the Auditori, the Schubertíada, the Palau de la Música, the Wigmore Hall and the Pau Casals Festival, among others. Starting in 2021 and for three seasons, they will be the resident quartet of the Palau de la Música.
