The Círculo del Liceo hosted the presentation of the book El meu Liceu abans del foc, by Josep Maria Busquets i Galera, cultural manager who was Genral Director of the Gran Teatre del Liceu from 1985 to 1992. The event featured the presentation of Salvador Alemany, the Liceu's current president. After the presentation, attendees enjoyed a brief recital by the pianist Olga Kobekina.
On January 31, 1994, Barcelona fell silent: the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the most important lyrical coliseum in the city, had burned down. The author opens the doors of the theater to tell us the story, show us the most inaccessible spaces of the building, and reveal a good handful of secrets that are hidden behind the curtain, between the sets and even under the seats in the stalls. An entertaining chronicle about how the Liceu worked at the end of the last century and about the fire that changed everything.

In 2014 the Generalitat de Catalunya awarded him the Sant Jordi Cross for his dedication to culture.
