Billy Budd is, on its own merits, one of Benjamin Britten's great operas. The stage production directed by Deborah Warner makes the story of the young sailor even more memorable, as evidenced by the various awards received, including the award for Best New Production at the 2017 International Opera Awards and the Diapason D'or awarded to the DVD in the opera category by Diapason magazine.
