The Music Commission of the Círculo del Liceo hosted the recital Pauline Viardot's romantic universe with the soprano Natalia Labourdette and the pianist Albert Mena, who performed works by Pauline Viardot, Clara Schumann and Franz Liszt. The event featured an introduction by Antoni Colomer.

This recital is part of an initiative to publicize the work of Pauline Viardot, which began on Wednesday 12 January with the conference Pauline Viardot, the end of silence by Rosa Massagué.

Natalia Labourdette studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and has won numerous awards in national and international competitions. She has worked with renowned musical and stage directors, such as Riccardo Frizza or David McVicar, playing roles in operas such as Un ballo in maschera, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Falstaff, Così fan tutte or La Cenerentola. she and she regularly participate in lied festivals such as LIFE Victoria Barcelona or the Schubertíada. She has participated in the project for the musical recovery of Pauline Viardot's work in Spanish called L ’Andalousie au coeur, together with the mezzo-soprano Helena Ressurreição and the pianist Francisco Soriano.

Albert Mena has studied at the Xàtiva Conservatory, the Basque Country Higher Music Center and the Universität der Künste in Berlin. He has participated in various festivals such as the San Sebastián Musical Fortnight, the Leeds Lieder Festival or the Zeist Lied Festival, and received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation of Berlin-Brandenburg in 2020. He has trained in vocal repertoire with various teachers and has received masterclasses from renowned singers and pianists such as Malcolm Martineau or Julius Drake.
