The Music Commission of the Círculo del Liceo hosted the first session of the Opera and Screen cycle this season, with the screening of the opera "Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner from the Semperoper Dresden. The event featured a presentation by the journalist Rosa Massagué.

A Lohengrin in video of the 21st century round both in music and on stage. Recorded at the Semperoper in Dresden in two performances in May 2016, has the excellent baton of Christian Thielemann and a very competent cast, with the incentive to include the -successful- debuts of Piotr Beczala and Anna Netrebko, noy only in the leading roles, but in a Wagner opera, by a suggestion of Thielemann himself. The production by Christine Mielitz was premiered in 1983 and today it is a true rare sight for its respect for the dimensions of the work, its naturalness of movements and its classic decorations, without being stiff.
