The Círculo del Liceo hosted the "MACBA: Next Generation" Lunch-Colloquium with Ainhoa Grandes, president of the MACBA Foundation.
This year MACBA begins a profound transformation. On the one hand, the expansion of the museum is already underway, an ambitious project led by the architecture studios Harquitectes and Christ & Gantenbein, which will culminate in 2023 and means a new boost for the museum, the Raval neighborhood and Barcelona. Likewise, the recent appointment of the new management will establish new discursive lines and relationships between the museum and the city. It is an exciting time to discuss Barcelona's cultural policies, our position in the international cultural and artistic context and the public-private collaboration that is so important nowadays.
Ainhoa Grandes has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the International University of Catalonia (UIC), and is a specialist in cultural management and patronage from the ESADE Business School and the New York University. She worked for 5 years at the auction company Sotheby's before joining the MACBA Foundation in 1999. She is a visiting professor and participates annually in the Master of Cultural Management at the Carlos III University of Madrid and, in addition, gives lectures on patronage and cultural sponsorship in other institutions. She is currently a member of the General Council and the Delegate Commission of MACBA and president of the MACBA Foundation.
