The Círculo del Liceo hosted the "Barcelona deserves urban planning" Lunch-Colloquium with the renowned architect Josep Acebillo, who had a conversation with the journalist Llàtzer Moix.
The current systemic crisis, aggravated by the pandemic, places us in the face of the recovery and challenges that already existed, but are now unavoidable. The urban planning model that is applied will be essential, but is muts be at the height of the circumstances and the demanding citizens of Barcelona.
Josep Acebillo, is an architect-urban planner. For more than 25 years (1980-2006) he had responsibilities in the urban transformation of Barcelona, as Director of Urban Projects, Technical Director of the Olympic Holding, CEO of the Barcelona Regional Agency and Chief Architect of the city, a period in which the Barcelona urban planning received the highest international honors and recognition. After his activity as municipal architect-urban planner and Associate Professor at the ETSAB, he was Professor and Dean of the Academy of Architecture of the University of Lugano (Switzerland), Visiting Professor at the universities of Yale, GSD-Harvard, NUS-Singapore, Rome 3 and Tongji-Sanghai and currently at UPF in Barcelona.
Llàtzer Moix is deputy director, editorial writer and architecture critic at La Vanguardia. He is the author, among other books, of La ciudad de los arquitectos, Arquitectura milagrosa or Queríamos un Calatrava.
