La Schubertiada, a unique festival in Spain "We work for an immense minority," says Jordi Roch, founder of the Schubertiada, a festival with a strong personality that is about to celebrate 30 years. The Schubertiada focuses on poetic song and chamber music. It is considered in the international circuit as the most important lied festival in southern Europe. Its greatest asset is discovering young talent and presenting debuts by numerous artists who later become stars. It is not by chance that it has presented Jonas' debut recitals in Spain Kaufmann, Matthias Goerne, Christian Gerhaher, Lise Davidsen, Andrè Schuen, Katharina Konradi, Sarah Connolly, Fatma Said or Khatia Buniatishvili among many others. Another of its characteristics is the dialogue it establishes between architectural heritage and music by holding its concerts in emblematic spaces . The event featured the presence of Jordi Roch and Victor Medem, founder and director, respectively, of the Schubertíada, as well as Antoni Colomer, cultural manager, music critic and popularizer. |
