The Círculo del Liceo hosted the Lunch-Colloquium "Why doesn't liberalism exist in Spain?" with Santi Vila, former Deputy of the Parliament of Catalonia.

Santi Vila is a doctor in Contemporary and Political History, a member of the Partit Demòcrata Europeu Català (PDeCAT). He has been a deputy in the Parliament of Catalonia, mayor of Figueres, Minister of Territory and Sustainability, Minister of Culture and Minister of Business and Knowledge of the Generalitat. A supporter of the call for elections in Catalonia after the referendum of October 1, 2017, on October 26, hours before the Parliament proclaimed independence, he submitted his resignation. He has published two books: On heroes and traitors, the dilemma of Catalonia or the ten errors of the procés (Ediciones Penúnsila, 2018) and Winning and convincing: from the Supreme Court to the commitment to reconciliation (Ediciones Peninsula, 2020).
