Conference with Antoni Colomer (2nd part)
Great tenors of Italian opera in the 20th century
Friday, 16 Abril 19:00
* Private and exclusive events for members of the Círculo del Liceo

The Music Commission of the Círculo del Liceo hosted the second part of the conference "Great tenors of Italian opera in the 20th century" by Antoni Colomer, cultural manager, music critic and popularizer.

After the Second World War, a new generation of great tenors will emerge in the Italian repertoire. Some of them are not exactly Latino, like the Swede Jussi Björling or the American Richard Tucker. Italy will not be left behind and, true to its tradition, will see the emergence of legendary voices such as Mario del Monaco, Giuseppe di Stefano, Franco Corelli, Carlo Bergonzi and, later, Luciano Pavarotti. The relay will be taken over by Spain, which will experience a golden vocal period. Alfredo Kraus, Jaume Aragall, Plácido Domingo and José Carreras took over the Olympus of tenors at the end of the 20th century.

Antoni Colomer has developed his career in institutions and festivals such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Schubertíada, Juventudes Musicales de España or the Xavier Montsalvatge Association. As a critic and musicologist, he has collaborated with Catalunya Música, La Vanguardia Culturas, Núvol Digital, Platea Magazine and Revista Musical Catalana, among others. He is a critic and contributor to the magazine Ópera Actual.
