* Private and exclusive events for members of the Círculo del Liceo

The Music Commission of the Círculo del Liceo hosted the screening of the opera "Rusalka" by Antonín DvoÅ™ák. Attendees enjoyed the performance that took place on Wednesday November 25 at the Teatro Real, after a brief introduction by Antoni Colomer.
A work full of magic and color with a certain Wagnerian influence. Rusalka soon conquered the German-speaking countries, but its international emergence was slower, despite the celebrity of its “Song of the Moon”. Since the last decades of the last century, its presence on the stage has not ceased to consolidate until it has become one of the twenty most performed operas of our days.

Libretto by Jaroslav Kvapli, based on the fairy tale Undine (1811) by Friederich de la Motte Fouqué and inspired by the tale The Little Mermaid (1837) by Hans Christian Andersen and other European tales.

World premiere: Prague National Theater on March 31, 1901
Premiered at the Teatro Real on March 15, 1924
