The Círculo del Liceo hosted the Lunch-Colloquium "Homage to Alexandre de Riquer" to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death.
The Círculo del Liceo has organized a small exhibition in the Sala Alexandre de Riquer, which was designed and decorated by the artist in 1902. Members will be able to see part of the works that the Círculo treasures and that have been recentrly discovered in the club's library, such as the collection of poems 'Anyoranses', several ex-libris and illustrations for magazines and scores.
Alexandre de Riquer, Count of Casa Dávalos, stood out in all those fields he dealt with, from design and poster design, to painting and poetry, positioning himself as one of the most relevant figures of Catalan Modernism and a key figure in the Círculo del Liceo.
The event will feature the participation of Borja de Riquer, great-grandson of the artist, historian, university professor, writer and President of the Royal Academy of Good Letters of Barcelona. Francesc Fontbona will be also participating, he is a member of the Club, Doctor in Modern History and one of the most prolific art historians in the country.
