On Wednesday, November 20, the Círculo del Liceo hosted the Lunch-Colloquium «The cocapitality of Barcelona» with Javier Faus, president of the Cercle d’Economia, in a joint event between the Círculo del Liceo and the Peña Actual, chaired by Mrs. Magda Ferrer-Dalmau and Mr. Ignacio García-Nieto.
Javier Faus has been president of the Cercle d’Economia since the beginning of 2019 and cocacapitality is one of the most outstanding elements of his proposals. In this sense, Faus proposes a shared capital between Madrid and Barcelona, giving the catalan city the "prominence it deserves for its economic and cultural weight."
Javier Faus holds a degree in Law from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, a Masters in International Law from Georgetown University and an MBA from ESADE. He began his professional career as a lawyer in Garrigues and Cuatrecasas. Between 2001 and 2006 Javier Faus was CEO and minority shareholder of Hovisa, owner of Hotel Arts. He was also Iberian Managing Partner for Patron Capital (2003-2006). Director of Colonial (2010-2014) and Grupo Indukern (2016-present). Vice President at FC Barcelona (2010-2015) and RCTB (2008 to 2018). Currently, he is Chairman and founder of Meridia Capital SGEIC, specialists in private alternative investment management in real estate, private equity, venture capital and impact investment.
