The Music Commission was pleased to announce the Presentation of the 8th season of the Polyphonic Masses project, by Eusebi Díaz-Morera, Josep Pons and Mireia Barrera.
The Polyphonic Masses project started in 2012 following a group of friends with the purpose of organizing in Barcelona a season of auditions of liturgical music performed in churches and within the framework of the ceremonies for which they were created.
With the aim of guaranteeing the highest quality of the performances, the project promoted the creation of its own vocal ensemble, Barcelona Ars Nova, under the direction of Mireia Barrera, which brings together a group of high-quality vocal soloists.
Since the beginning in 2012, the polyphonic Masses project has been received with great success, filling the churches with an audience who have witnessed the enormous quality of the initiative and who have been able to enjoy the happy union of music, liturgy and heritage.
This presentation of the 8th season of the Polyphonic Masses was conducted by Eusebio Díaz-Morera, president of the association that promotes the project, Mestre Josep Pons, musical director of the Gran Teatro del Liceo, founding member of the board and music advisor of the initiative, and Mireia Barrera, director of Barcelona Ars Nova.
